VE Day 75th anniversary

VE Day 75th anniversary

This Friday we are celebrating the 75th Anniversary of VE day.

Unfortunately, this momentous occasion cannot be celebrated in the style we would have wanted, but @veday75official are urging us to go ahead with our festivities whilst still adhering to the current government restrictions.

Stay at home street parties are being planned with the usual British spirit. Are you taking part with any celebrations of your own? We would love to see your photographs of your residents enjoying the day.

#VEDay75 Pageantmaster, Bruno Peek, who lives in Lowestoft, is encouraging people to celebrate the VE Day bank holiday at home. “We’re saying to the public, stop what you’re doing at 3pm on Friday 8 May, raise a glass, and undertake a toast to the heroes of WWII. ‘Toast the Nation’ at 3pm with the words, “To those who gave so much, we thank you”.

You can also make a donation to the VE Day 75 official partner charity SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity, who provide lifelong support for anyone who serves, or has served, in the British Forces.
